5 September – 17 October 2009

The 4th of September will mark a whopping 20 years since an artist Felicy Wren opened the Art Gallery Domino.  Domino has invited many of its’ past and present artists to contribute to a special exhibition of anniversary stamps to celebrate this important milestone.

Exhibiting artists are as diverse as Alan Smith, whose exhibition of traditional photographic processes, including pinhole photographs, through to Rachel Merriman, one of Liverpool’s finest illustrators, as well as Steve des Landes, Mary Jamieson, Penny Gill etc., etc. – just too many to list!

Artist Felicity Wren opened Domino Design Craft in one of the Acorn Gallery’s spaces early in September1989 and is proud to be the owner of the only independent art gallery founded then that is still around today. Even in today’s uncertain economic climate the gallery is thriving. A testament to the dedication and talent of its owner.

Based since 1991 at 11 Upper Newington, and changing the focus from a local base for craftspeople, jewellers, sculptors etc. to a small independent gallery with the exhibition in early 1994 of the artist John Bratby’s wonderful drawings of his wife Patty, Domino Gallery has shown the work of a very wide selection of local, national and international artists during its’ lifetime, including the late and much missed Adrian Henri, Richard Young, and Nicholas Horsfield to name but  a few.
