Digital Film Lecturer – SAE Liverpool

We are looking for a knowledgeable and engaging educator to teach digital film modules in SAE HE programmes under the guidance of the Programme Coordinator. As a member of the Liverpool based faculty you will be responsible for delivery of modules assigned to you providing expert teaching according to programme specifications and best practice teaching, timely and effective feedback to students and providing accurate assessment results by the dates advised by the Academic Coordinator. All faculty are expected to participate in continuous professional development and contribute to the academic culture of the campus and SAE UK. Student pastoral care includes timely feedback, consultation on module content and general academic guidance and reporting student engagement such as accurate and timely attendance records.

Essential Criteria

  • A Masters degree in a related field, or Hons degree and a PG Cert Education (en route to a Masters qualification, attending with demonstrable evidence of satisfactory progress)
  • Relevant expert industry experience
  • Proficient with industry-standard equipment and software including: Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer
  • An innate understanding of digital media platforms and online distribution
  • Knowledge on the various production stages within the film industry
  • Teaching experience, including the creation of session plans and preparation of materials
  • Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills
  • Prior experience in supervising students on projects and academic assignments
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Familiar with using the Internet and email
  • Demonstrated student service orientation
  • Ability to conduct assessment and moderation
  • Ability to work in and foster a harmonious working environment
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities
  • Must have rights to live and work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of production pipelines
  • Knowledge of game development techniques
  • Ability to create and build on industry links
  • Qualification in Education or fellowship of the Higher Education Academy
  • Flexible approach to delivering sessions
  • Proficient with industry-standard equipment and software (Final Cut)
  • Team leadership experience.
