This is a chance to join a world class arts organisation in Liverpool and play a major role in realising its vision and programme by building effective funding relationships.

Tate Liverpool will celebrate its 30th birthday in 2018 and is one of the largest galleries of modern and contemporary art outside of London, welcoming over 600,000 visitors each year. The gallery’s programme is focused on two main principles: linking simultaneous programmes (exhibitions, displays, learning programmes and events) to form three coherent seasons every year and involving our audience in developing new knowledge and meaning with us.

Our ambitions are matched by an enterprising culture. As public funding reduces, so we need to develop significant and long-term partnerships with private funders. The role of Development Manager is crucial to achieving this: As a key member of the Development team you will identify, approach and secure funding from trusts, institutions and individuals in support of Tate Liverpool’s work. Key tasks will range from preparing proposals and reports and gathering information and co-ordinating approaches with other Tate colleagues to planning a programme of cultivation and stewardship events for patrons and ensuring excellent records management.

We are looking for a highly effective communicator who has a successful track record of fundraising and donor development in the not-for-profit or cultural sector. Your experience will have included working with trusts and foundations, writing funding applications and reports, and presenting complex financial information in a way that is easy to understand. Your outstanding relationship management, networking and organisational skills will be complemented by a high level of IT literacy and the ability to deliver to demanding deadlines. Above all, you’ll have a genuine passion for culture and the visual arts.

Our jobs are like our galleries, open to all
