Matson continues to paint urban landscapes and is inspired to chart a city’s aspects and moods by recording its very fabric. She continues to see the subject ‘as an event to be celebrated, a human achievement which should inspire awe, even if a times the viewer may feel some sense of loneliness in these cityscapes’ (Curator of Liverpool University Art Collections).
