Culturepool Events July / August 2009

A Few Events From www.culturepool.org.uk

It’s been a little while since our last outing to the wonderful Playhouse Theatre, but don’t worry we have plenty of great events coming up, starting with a bit of cabaret… Actually it’s culturepool’s first foray into cabaret with Zeligs, Liverpool’s largest Italian restaurant & bar!

Organised by culturepool’s friend and supporter Liz Lacey and compered by the hilarious Desmond O’Connor, Thursday 30th July 2009 promises to be a fabulous night of music, dance and comedy.

3 course dinner and show for £35 for or £5 for non-diners. Tables are available from 6pm and the show starts at 9pm. Please check with Zeligs when booking as tables are limited.

View the cabaret menu here (http://www.zeligs.co.uk/menus/cabaret_evening_menu.pdf) or to make a reservation call 0151 709 7097. Check out Zeligs location here (http://www.zeligs.co.uk/location.html)

Then… culturepool is working on a project called Scouse Soul Stew talking to people who live and work in Liverpool

Just as with food, everyone has a recipe for life with their own variations on the ingredients, and Scouse Soul Stew wants to know yours…

On Saturday 1st August @ 1pm we’ll be meeting in the Williamson Tunnels (http://www.williamsontunnels.co.uk/), The Old Stableyard, Smithdown Lane, L7 3EE (see map), one of Liverpool’s most unique and underrated gems. Food and soft refreshments will be provided in one of the tunnel sections before chatting about your own Scouse Soul Stew. Local artist SketchyBeast will be on hand to illustrate everyone’s own recipes for life, which will be projected onto the tunnel wall.

All contributions from the discussions will feed into a larger piece of artwork, and there may also be a chance to get involved.

The event is FREE (food and soft drinks provided), just turn up and join in.

Then… it’s the culturepool’s annual birthday party as part of Mellowtone’s Above The Beaten Track, 22nd August 2009 from 4pm.

Since our foundation in 2006 we’ve worked with talented artists, performers, venues, organisations and all round good eggs to bring to our members an ‘eclection’ of events.

And, as is now a firm culturepool tradition, we’d like to thank everyone who’s supported us. Most especially our lovely culturepool members without whom culturepool would just be, well, nothing really…

So come along to chill out and celebrate how fabulous we all really are! We’ll be organising music, comedy and so much more…

Cheers, Luan & Vinny
