Lord Mayor's Parade - Pictures

mayor-1.jpgI enjoyed the Lord Mayor's Parade on Saturday afternoon, beautiful weather, a big crowd and some very good carnival style floats on display. I even got a bit sun-burned.
I have uploaded several photos onto flickr.com, take a look.

Also, I just discovered there is an official website for the Lord Mayors Parade: www.llmp.org.uk

Lord Mayor's Parade - Update

Takes place on Saturday June 3rd 2006.
There will be African and Irish dancers, and martial arts performances starting from St George's Hall at 11.45am.

The event, which starts at 1pm, is also set to be the greenest parade on record – rickshaws and a horse-drawn dray will take their place alongside pedal-powered floats, an electric vehicle and hundreds of costumed performers on foot.

Walk the Plank and the Liverpool Lantern Company are working together with a number of community groups to expand the scale of the floats in this year's Parade. Both arts companies are known for their imaginative design and large-scale outdoor theatre, and they promise to bring a dose of theatrical magic to the five floats they are creating. Fifteen artists, including some of the most experienced carnival artists in the UK, will be working alongside children, young people and adults to ensure Liverpool Performs...A Great Day Out on 3 June. For more information about either company visit www.walktheplank.co.uk
