Production Manager/Technical Project Manager

To assist and work with the Technical Production Manager in the development of the artistic program for The Liverpool Culture Company in the build up to 2008.

Principle Responsibilities
Project Co-ordination and management:

The design, creation and conversion of both new and existing performances spaces in and around the city
Developing and scoping projects for 2007 and 2008 with freelance producers, artists and members of the Culture Company's Artist Team
Liaison and planning with host venues
The development of project budgets and technical requirements
To host visiting companies and artists for site visits in Liverpool
Technical and Production Management
To work closely with technical staff and freelance contractors to understand and fulfil visiting companies technical requirements
Specifying and managing the services of contractors and freelance staff
Scheduling and supervising both freelance and hosting venues technical staff
Stage management of performances as required
Coordinate technical resources and requirements efficiently and within set budgets
Specification and procurement of equipment
Attend Artistic Team meetings and project management meetings as required

Health & Safety:

Maintaining and managing high levels Health & Safety at all times while ensuring both co-productions and visiting companies meet all UK requirements and carry the relevant risk assessments
Ensuring that any licensing requirements are met for both venues and performances
Maintaining an up to knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and working practices
Responsibility for the safe and efficient management of both co-produced and visiting companies work.
To work with licensing officers, build control, fire officers and the police in obtaining licenses for public performances as required

Person Specification:

Essential:
At least 5 years experience in professional theatre with a minimum of 3 years experience as a production/event management
Experience of public performance in unusual performance environments
Able to demonstrate a broad knowledge technical theatre and the production process
Experience in the design and specification of scenery construction
Experience of a AutoCAD or a similar software program
Experience of working on multiple projects in a wide range of performance venues and sites
Experience of mounting international work in both the UK and overseas
Experience of working with licensing officers, build control, fire officers and the police in obtaining licenses for public performance
Experience of budget management and reporting
Experience of producing tender documents
Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and freelance staff
Computer literate
Full Driving License

Desirable:
A good knowledge of Merseyside and the North West

Terms and conditions: Full -time, six month, fixed term contract

Salary / Fee based on pro rata PO3 - PO4 (29,859-34,986)
