RLPO - New Media Development Office

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society has a long and proud tradition in the music world. Founded in 1840, it is one of the oldest concert-giving organisations in the world, and the second oldest in Britain.

In association with the University of Wales, Bangor, we are seeking to recruit a New Media Development Officer (KTP associate)

to develop and embed music technology capabilities and use online resources to broaden audiences and realise new commercial income streams. Key responsibilities include management of our current website, testing and scaling-up the transfer of our wide-ranging multi-media archive and creating a business model moving forward to utilise this archive intelligently.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) support high level business development projects between companies and Universities. Graduates (KTP Associates) are recruited into the partnership to work on challenging high-profile projects. In addition, business and management training is provided and there is the opportunity to register for a higher degree (M.Phil or PhD).

The successful candidate will have a good Honours degree in Music, Music Technology, Media Studies or related field. Experience in the online music industry or in development of new media is preferred. A good level of IT competence, excellent writing and editorial skills, and a passion for music required.

Salary: £19,000 - £21,000 / Fixed two-year contract
