Crofts Social Club: In Our Times

front of flyer as jpeg22 July

19.00 – 21.00

In Our Times draws upon utopian and dystopian ideas to expose the reality of living in the UK today through a medley of provocation, performance and participation.  The event is multi-faceted and includes

  • A presentation from UK Policy Advisor to Save the Children
  • Extracts from Liverpool writer Kellie Smith’s new play “Dog Eat Dog”
  • The premiere of the first ever animated opera for social change “Death Invisible”
  • Comedy sketches from “Tea Time with Hetty”

In Our Times is a Collective Encounters event. Collective Encounters is committed to telling stories which excite, entertain and stimulate debate. For the last nine years this Liverpool based arts organisation has been working in partnership with the City Council and local voluntary sector organisations to use theatre as a tool to tackle the root cause and effects of poverty and inequality on individuals and communities in and around the city of Liverpool. Collective Encounters is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and is also funded by the Baring Foundation; Big Lottery; Children in Need and Liverpool City Council
