The National Waterways Museum are looking for a Collections Assistant to work with their Collections Manager to develop, manage and care for the museums’ collections in accordance with Accreditation and Designated status. The Collections Manager will be expected to display the collections and make them accessible in ways that realise their potential to enrich people’s lives and contribute to the wider success and resilience of the museum. The role is based at Ellesmere Port but also covers collections management activities at Gloucester Waterways Museum and The Canal Museum, Stoke Bruerne.

The ideal candidate must be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, & they must hold a postgraduate qualification in museum studies or similar. Ideally they will also have a good knowledge of museum collections management standards, knowledge of museum collections management systems, & knowledge of Museum Accreditation standards evidence of continued professional development.
