We are still very busy with our Liverpool Art Prize thing, we’re going into the gallery everyday and sorting various things out. But we are still getting to a lot of other good shows, I need to find some time to write about them.
Claire Stringer’s work is consistently good, many of you will have seen her previous series of paintings and drawings created from studying the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. These latest works are the result of many hours of watching the Momentum Physical Theatre people rehearsing for their recent Anima performance at the Unity Theatre.
She wasn’t an official artist-in-residence or anything but maybe she should be, someone should employ her to do this sort of thing, she is very good at capturing the movement.
There are 37 works hanging from every available bit of space in the upstairs corridor, bar, stairway etc. Look up to the top of the walls and you’ll find more.
Mostly oil on canvas or framed studies, all reasonably priced.
At Unity Theatre until April 12 2008
