THE LLOYDS LOVE LIVERPOOL
Three football-mad brothers are showcasing their artistic talents in a
new exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool.
Sam and Dan, 17, and Tom Lloyd, 14, from Wirral, are exhibiting at
Liverpool Love, a new exhibition that celebrates the city’s rich
artistic culture. The keen Liverpool FC fans spent many hours
perfecting their art, which now hangs alongside pieces from the likes
of Yoko Ono, comedian Noel Fielding and shoe designer Terry de
Proceeds from the sale of all the artwork will support Claire House
Children’s Hospice; a home from home environment offering respite
and care to children and young people with complex medical conditions
from across Liverpool and Merseyside. The Lloyd brothers have been
attending Claire House for ten years.
Sam Lloyd is a keen artist and hopes to go on to study for an art
foundation course at college when he finishes his sixth form studies.
Sam said; “I really loved drawing my piece for Liverpool Love; its
pastels and was inspired by my love of football and my favourite
landmarks in the city, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the St Johns
“I want to go on to study art at college so the fact that my work
has been shown in a famous museum already should put me ahead of the
Liverpool Love is the brainchild of art lover Vaughn Davies and his
curator nephew Christian Furr. Christian said; “We have brought
together an incredible amount of talent to create an exhibition which
depicts Liverpool’s fun, vivacity and soul in many different ways.
“The Lloyd brothers are a great reflection of the amazing spirit of
Merseyside and I’m delighted that they have contributed to the
exhibition. They have a lot of talent; Tracey Emin better watch
The Liverpool Love exhibition runs until 25th November 2012. A charity
gala auction where all the pieces will be sold in support of Claire
House takes place on Saturday 17th November at the Museum of
