Photo: Gary Millar unveils a portrait by Anthony Brown
We went to the preview of this on Thursday. Gary Millar and people from Claire House were there. We watched a very moving short video about the work of the Hospice.
The evening was a great success, several works and limited edition prints were sold but there’s still plenty available. Apparently the Halliwells Corporate Challenge has now raised around £200,000.
A Charity Art Sale has been organised by Gary Millar of Parr Street Studios in conjunction with MICROZINE. Gary has commissioned over 20 pieces of artwork especially to raise much needed funds for the Claire House Children’s Hospice on the Wirral (www.claire-house.org.uk).
All pieces of art have been inspired by a £50 note given to Parr Street by Halliwells during their Corporate Challenge.
The current artists are Anthony Brown, Connie Lush, Derek Culley, Felicity Wren, George Jones, Maxine Shisselle and ZAP Graffiti..
Some original pieces, artist proofs and copy prints are for sale. All proceeds will go to Claire House. One original piece worth in excess of £6,000 and another has already been sold for £400, however more affordable pieces are also on view. Please help support Claire House Children’s Hospice and visit Microzine’s Bold Street store to buy an original artwork or limited edition print.
