Camp and Furnace: “Be Hospitable”, The Souvenir Collective

21 – 29 September 2012

Viewing: 20 September 17:30

The Souvenir Collective is a creative group operating from three
different cities across the world: Liverpool, London and New York.
The Collective was founded in 2010 by Marie Jones, Nick Griffiths
and Jackie Dunning, and each is the creative representative
for their respective city.

Each founder continues to work independently on individual
creative works, while simultaneously uniting for group projects.
With collaboration at the core of the collective, they work with
design studios, artists, brands and each other to provide and
produce print design, photography, illustration,
writing and digital arts.

As part of the 2012 Independents Biennial  and their inaugural group
exhibition the collective will invite friends and collaborators to explore
the theme of hospitality. From the strangely familiar habits within
families, to the traditions and rituals of international cultures;
each artist will design, make, photograph, illustrate, screenprint
or letterpress their contribution to the show.

The exhibition will launch with The Biennial, shown first
at Camp & Furnace in Liverpools Baltic Triangle (21-29th September)
before traveling to East London and then New York City in 2013.

The collective hopes to be made to feel welcome
in every city it visits in 2012 and beyond.

So go see the show and be hospitable!
