Call for Proposals, Interactive Winter Lights Liverpool, OPEN CULTURE CIC

Open Culture CIC and Liverpool BID Company are seeking proposals from artists, arts organisations and creative commercial organisations to create playful interactive light installations in Liverpool city centre to form part of the Liverpool BID Christmas programme. The new installations will transform Clayton Square and the Williamson Square Christmas Tree into interactive magical and atmospheric spaces throughout November and December 2017.

Many of the regions residents cherish traditions at this time of year, however we are keen to develop the festive offer and are looking for a contemporary and technologically compelling vision that reflects our diverse city and encourages public engagement in new and innovative ways.

The proposal should offer lighting and/or sound installation/s for the exterior public space of Clayton Square on Elliot Street in Liverpool city centre, that are controlled by public interaction (e.g. using social media, SMS, sound, AR or movement activation) to surprise audiences and create an immersive and memorable experience of Christmas in Liverpool. Equipment (lights, LED screens, speakers etc) can be installed internally or externally and could offer a range of small interactive installations or one large interactive installation.

Augmented reality elements can also be included but should not be the main activity.

The deadline for proposals is 2 October 2017.
