MUSEUM TEA DANCE

A free tea dance is being held at World Museum Liverpool as part of this year’s Festival 50 – a celebration of the over-50s.

The event will be held in the museum’s Lower Horseshoe Gallery between 1330 and 1600 hours this Sunday 4 June 2006.

Free - No need to book.

Two singers are accompanied by the Kings of Rhythm (pictured) who will be playing evocative music from the Frank Sinatra Rat Pack era.

The Lower Horseshoe Gallery is an ideal location for a tea dance with its polished wooden floor, high ceilings and large windows flooding the area with light.

Jackie Ross, National Museums Liverpool’s outreach officer for older people, says: “We want as many people as possible to come along to this summer Sunday event to make it go with a swing. This is an ideal space for dancing - we don’t know why we haven’t thought of it before!”

Festival 50 runs from June 3rd to July 1st 2006 at various venues: the Tate, Liverpool Museums, Royal Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse and the Merseyside Dance Initiative.
Unfortunately there is very little information online, look out for the leaflets.
