JW Carling at Editions

j.w. carling at editionsThis small exhibition was opened by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool this morning at Editions in Cook St. Quite interesting to see these old paintings and drawings of 19th century Liverpool and one of his illustrations for 'The Raven'. They are all reproductions, the originals are held by the family in Wisconsin or the Edgar Allen Poe Museum in Virginia.
The guys at Scottie Press, Mike Kelly and Ron Formby, are campaigning for greater recognition of the artist who died at the age of 29 and was buried in a paupers grave in Walton.
I posted a link to the Daily Post story recently here
