Review of 'Beside the Seaside'

I found this review by Simon Poe for the New Statesman entertaining and informative. The exhibition at Lady Lever ends on Sept 4th.

"Beside the Seaside" is an utterly charming exhibition. It is a small show, but the curators at the Lady Lever have borrowed well from Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Ipswich, Newcastle, Bristol and the Tate, and made the most of the splendid collection of their fellow National Museums Liverpool art gallery, the Walker. Standing head and shoulders above all the other paintings is Walter Sickert's The Bathers, Dieppe
