I have to admit I'm not greatly impressed by the five portrait busts by Jacob Epstein which are on temporary display in the Walker. I suppose they're meant to be a bit abstract which does make slightly more interesting than the average true-to-life busts. But poor old 'Man of Aran (Tiger King)' for example seems to have a particularly badly fitted permed wig stuck on top of his head. The other efforts are equally uncomplimentary.
Maybe I should go to the talk next Sunday to gain a better understanding.
