Piazza Art Market part of the Hope Street Feast 2010
Open Culture are working in partnership with Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral to offer artists and designer-makers the opportunity to exhibit and sell work on the outdoor piazza as part of the Hope Street Feast in 2010.
Taking place on Sunday 19 September, the Hope Street Feast is a popular event, which attracts thousands of visitors every year: an ideal setting for our Piazza Arts Market.
Whether you are an experienced self-representing artist or just starting to get your work out there, it’s a good opportunity to see what reactions your work sparks and speak directly to your audience and other creatives at the event.
If you are unfamiliar with the Hope Street Feast see www.hopestreetfestival.com for details on last year’s event.

Wow. St. George’s Hall was totally packed out yesterday for the big Winter Arts Market. There were 80 stalls and thousands of visitors so it took us a while to get around.
Lots of lovely goods including quite a few stalls we had not seen in Liverpool before. They all seemed quite happy with the day so hopefully this will become an annual event though I’m guessing the organisers Open Culture must have incurred some costs.
There was music, food and drink too and it seems a lot of local people who still had not seen the inside of this great building before.

This Saturday 28 November 2009 10.00 – 17.00
Over 80 exhibitors selling a huge mix of work including: paintings, photographs, paper goods, prints, sculpture, textiles, vintage clothing, ceramics, jewellery, glass, handmade toiletries, accessories and much more… at prices to suit all pockets.
Go Penguins fans will also have the rare chance to meet Patrick the Penguin in person at 13.00 and 15.00 in the afternoon.
The café will be open so you can enjoy the ambience of the Great Hall whilst you nibble on a mince pie and sip your mulled wine!
Take a sneaky peek at some of the exhibitors on our blog at http://winterartsmarket.wordpress.com
Entrance is through the Heritage Centre (the side entrance facing Queens Square Bus Station)

Winter Arts Market @ St George’s Hall.
There is a very nice blog for the Winter Arts Market which takes place at St George’s Hall on Saturday 28 Novermber 2009.

If there aren’t enough arts markets in Liverpool you could try Blackburn next week.
Blackburn’s Christmas Arts Market for contemporary craft and unique art
Pick up unique Christmas gifts and support local artists at Blackburn’s Christmas Arts Market.
The market will showcase the creativity of artists working in ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, textiles, photography, contemporary crafts and jewellery.
It is the second arts market to be held in Blackburn and will run alongside the three day market on Wednesday, November 18, Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21 2009.
It will see contemporary crochet being sold alongside courgettes and fabulous felt creations next to fishnets in a lively market atmosphere.
There will also be craft and knitting demonstrations and a local artist drawing cartoon portraits of shoppers.
The Christmas market follows the success of the first arts market, which took place in the summer, and attracted shoppers from all around the region.
Anyone contemporary crafters or artists interested in having a stall at the market should contact Asifa Satvilker on (01254) 585357 or email asifa.satvilker
