Claire Weetman Drawing in Linz

Claire Weetman is the latest Liverpool-based artists to take part in a residency in Linz. Tomorow she’s doing some live figure drawing similar to that she did here last summer. (That’s me at the Bluecoat above)

Tuesday 16 February 2010

The window of the Old Town Hall, Linz, Austria.

Liverpool Artist Claire Weetman will place a camera in the window of the Altes Rathaus, looking at people walking through Hauptplatz – this image will be projected onto paper inside the room, where Claire will create a drawing in response to the movement of figures as they pass by.

This work is part of Riposte, a project linking 7 artists from Liverpool and 7 artists from Linz.

Exhibitions
Liverpool: The Bluecoat, 9 April – 20 June 2010
Linz: Maerz & Salzsamt, July – September 2010.

09.11.09 from Daniel-Simpkins Penny-Whitehead on Vimeo.

Penny Whitehead and Dan Simpkins are based in Liverpool’s Royal Standard studios. They are currentlyhalf way through an artists residency in Linz (lucky people).

Yesterday they performed and released video documentation of an action to mark the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, as part of a series of spontaneous interventions and experimental projects that they are working on.

Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture

I hope you’re all checking out next year’s European Capital of Culture, Linz in Austria.

Very nice website and I like the logo – 09 made from a full stop and apostrophe – clever and simple.
