Unity Theatre – Comfort

Unity Theatre – Comfort | Hope Street, Liverpool.

A plug for Patchwork Theatre.

Redundancy has followed Rob around like a stray dog, but,as a counsellor for Personal Agony Relax and Release Call Centre [PARRCC] he begins to believe he has found his niche. With a talent for adding to company scripts Rob is noticed by the directors of [PARRCC] and he is invited to become the model for their AVATAR project.

Immortality and ungenerous financial rewards beckon, however, Rob deviously breaks the company’s prime rule, “No counsellor shall evermeet a caller!” A comedy of manners for the internet age with sparkling witthat punctures the dark side of our convenience culture.

Formed in 2008, Patchwork Theatre brings together poets, actors andmusicians in performance at social clubs, pubs and theatres. Patchwork performances typically stitch together Shakespeare, performance poetry, social commentary sketchesand popular music in a cabaret format. Nurturing artistes from the city’s community arts scene, Patchwork provides entertainment with a nip of satire.

All Mouth and No Ballot

We just heard about this fab event and thought there’s no way we can miss it…

Instead of staying in when the election results start coming in this Thursday 6th May, why not join us for a great night of cabaret, satire and comedy presented by the Riders of the Ruby Moon and performed by over 20 local artists reacting to the general election live.

Patrick Dineen (Composer King Cotton; Liverpool Empire & 08 People’s Opening), Artistic Director of Riders of the Ruby Moon says it all…

“Liverpool is a political city, this is a very important election, which promises to be a dramatic and theatrical experience. We wanted to create an evening of cabaret acts and live broadcast of the election for the people of Liverpool as it has never been done before! It’s a unique one off!”

We’ve never done anything like this before but we can’t think of a more inventive way to spend a general election. See below for full details…
