LIGHT UP MY STREET - Media Enthusiasts wanted
LOOKING FOR A BREAK INTO MEDIA?
WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR JOB PROSPECTS?
LIGHT UP MY STREET is a community project looking for 12 media enthusiasts to develop new skills in multi-media broadcasting. No previous experience is required just a genuine interest and commitment.
You will receive training from camera work to editing and create your own short film that will be transmitted on SKY TV for all to see! You will also have the opportunity to further develop your skills by volunteering to work on Liverpool’s very own TV channel OC167.
Karl Dolan, Open Culture Producer said... “It’s fantastic that a project such as this is extending opportunities out into the unemployed sector. There must be so much creative potential in people who, up until now, haven’t been given the right encouragement or environment to explore it. Creating opportunities for everyone is what Open Culture is all about.”
Training will be provided at a series of workshops in camera, sound, editing, pre and post production, scriptwriting and storyboarding, as well as developing a creative approach to producing a programme.
All applicants must be based on Merseyside and be registered as unemployed, or have proof of employment nearing an end. Training will take place at OC167’s headquarters at ICDC (International Centre for Digital Content, Liverpool Innovation Park, Edge Lane, Liverpool L7 9NJ.
Deadlines for applications Friday 31st October 2008.
