Recycle Into Art - Red Dot Recycling Week 19th - 26th September 2008
(Part of the 2008 Liverpool Arts Biennial Independent strand)
All workshops and the field trip are all FREE to attend.
Friday 19 September 12pm - 5pm
Launch event of Red Dot Recycling Week at St Luke's Church, Berry Stree, featuring a workshop by Urban Strawberry Lunch in which participants will learn how to turn waste materials and/or found objects into musical instruments.
All the folllowing workshops will take place at the Liverpool Centre for Arts Development (LCAD), 2a Franceys (off Brownlow Hill). All participants will be shown how to turn waste materials and/or found objects into artwork.
Monday 22 September
10am - 1pm Creating art from junk furniture, Workshop leader: Alice Lenkiewicz
2pm - 5pm Creating artwork from waste paper. Workshop leader: Barbara Jones
Tuesday 23 September
10am - 1pm Creating heat pressed artwork from fabric waste, cereal packets and crisp packets. Workshop leader: Beccy Williams
2pm - 5pm Creating buildings from cardboard. Workshop leader: Jane Fairhurst
Wednesday 24 September
***Please note the time of this all day workshop
10am - 4pm Creating a fabric bag by layering different materials. Also creating jewellery from recycled wire. Workshop leader: Alison Bailey Smith
Thursday 25 September
10am - 1pm Workshop details to be finalised. Workshop leader: Eimear Kavanagh
2pm - 5pm Creating creatures and props for a shadow theatre. Workshop leader: Anne Mawdsley
Friday 26 September
10am - 1pm Field trip to Gaskell's Waste Services Recycling Centre in Bootle to look at various processes of recycling.
2pm - 5pm Redesigning old shoes into artwork. Workshop leader: Ilsa Parry
