Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize Call For Entries
A prize for representational painting with awards totalling £22,500
After three years championing the fine art of representational painting, the Painter-Stainers’ Company and the Lynn Foundation are delighted to co-sponsor, for the fourth year, the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize. With prize money totalling £22,500, this competition is designed to encourage creative representational painting and promote the skill of draughtsmanship.
Artists are invited to submit up to two original and recent non-sculptural works carried out in the last three years. The competition is open to UK artists over the age of eighteen. Closing date for submissions is mid September in London. Regional collection points are also provided across the UK. The 2008 judges are; Laura Gascoigne, Anthony Green RA, Benjamin Sullivan, Daphne Todd PPRP and Andrew Wilton – art historian
Approximately 70 - 80 works will be selected to form an exhibition at Painters’ Hall, 9 Little Trinity Lane, London EC4V 2AD from 19th to 29th November 2008. A series of events will be organised during the exhibition, full details of which are to be confirmed.
