FACT - FREE tour of exhibition
Bank Holiday Monday 28 May 2007 15.00

“The computer ‘knew’ I lived in a semi-detached house*

“Very Nervous System sounds like swimming in trash*

“VNS is boss!*

“The use of technology is great*

FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is offering something a little bit different for Bank Holiday Monday.

The comments from visitors to FACT’s current exhibition, David Rokeby: Silicon Remembers Carbon, illustrate just how popular the interactive and unusual show is. In the midst of a debate about Britian being a surveillance society, experience what it’s like to have your movements tracked inside and outside the galleries. A camera is perched on top of the building, projecting an image of Ropewalk square into the foyer for Watch, keeping an eye on what you’re doing as you walk into FACT. In Gallery 2, Taken follows you into the space, and tells you how you’re feeling while you’re doing it. Very Nervous System is David Rokeby’s ground-breaking installation in The Media Lounge that turns movement into sound and lets you control your own space.

FACT’s galleries will be open from 11.00 until 18.00 this Bank Holiday Monday, 28 May 2007. Join us at 15.00 for a FREE and exclusive insight into how the art works with a guided tour of the exhibition. Email info@fact.co.uk or just turn up at FACT.
