Lark Lane Flowers Gallery - Call for Submissions
Lark Lane Flowers Gallery
Moira Kenny and Callum Moncrieff founded Liverpool Arts Regeration formerly Chinapool as a social enterprise. All profits will be put into the space to further the social enterprise, provide jobs and opportunites for artists. Lark Lane Flowers Gallery is the physical reality of the concept of an independent contemporary arts space that has been developed over a number of years. You may remember 40 - 42 Nelson Street Chinatown? 24 Hardman St?
We aim to initiate a three year programme developing open artist residencies for Chinese Contemprary artists. We shall also be giving the opportunity of short term specific outcome residencies. We recognise a lack of space ot show good quality work and opportunity ouside of the major institutions . We are also developing the aspect of an exhibition/seminar space with hospitality at the adjoining Maranto's restuarant for business' working within the Housing and Regeneration developement sectors.
Flowers Gallery is situated in a bustling contemporary area in a traditionally creative part of the city. Lark Lane has extensive daytime and evening trade frequented by people from all over the North West (and footballers's wives....wow!)
The gallery will be open within the next six weeks. We are now in the exciting stage of looking for submissions to an open exhibition in May. Artists will be invited to contribute a £10 payment for inclusion in the show. All work must be for sale. Commission will be charged at 40%
We are also looking for examples of quality work for consideration for residencey commission form overseas artists and Chinese contemporary artists based in the North West of England.
Artists are invited to submit a proposal and two examples/images of work (unreturnable) to :
