GIVE DODDY A BRUSH OVER!
The Liverpool Echo is searching for an aspiring Merseyside artist to immortalise the legendary comic Ken Dodd. An artist will be chosen to produce a canvas piece of art to be unveiled at a Gala event in the World Museum Liverpool.
Echo Editor, Alastrair Machray has said that, 'This is a great opportunity for aspiring artists to showcase their talent and be up there with the professionals'. As part of the Spirit of Liverpool Awards, in association with Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank, ten artists in total will be acknowledged and showcased at this prestigious event.
To enter artists will be asked to send a sketched version of their idea for a portrait of Ken Dodd with some photographic example of past work. An overall winner will be selected to produce the final canvas.
Deadline for entries is Friday March 23rd. Entries should be sent to :

Oddly enough someone actually entered the John Moore's exhibition a few years ago with a Doddy portrait -- I don't think it made the shortlist. Wonder where that is now.
