World Museum Welcomes Millionth Visitor
Today, Wednesday 14 February 2007 World Museum Liverpool staff welcomed their one millionth visitor since the attraction opened less than two years ago.
Pictured here are two little boys, Elliot and Joseph Moon, who were the lucky millionth visitors. They were from Chorley on a day trip with grandparents. They had heard all about WML and were really looking forward to dinosaurs and planetarium shows!
They were treated to goody bags and those stylish caps you can see them sporting!
Also in the picture are a samurai warrior role player from the Treasure House Theatre and Emma, a demonstrator from Weston Discovery Centre.
John Millard, keeper of World Museum Liverpool says “We are proud to welcome one million visitors to World Museum Liverpool in less than two years. All these visitors have taken the museum into the in the top ten of UK museums outside London. It’s a major attraction for Liverpool’s 800th birthday year�.
World Museum Liverpool opened its doors on Friday 29 April 2005 and has attracted crowds of visitors with its fascinating collections, fun interactives and fabulous temporary exhibition programmes.
Open daily, the free museum boasts the dazzling World Cultures gallery, the Bug House with giant animatronics and live specimens, the wonderful Aquarium and the Weston Discovery Centre, Clore Natural History Centre and Treasure House Theatre with thrilling hands-on experiences.
Latest temporary exhibition Animated Adventures captures the full animation process from storyboards to set design. Visitors will discover industry secrets through a fun and engaging mix of hands-on exhibits and multi-media pods that guarantee to get everyone animated!
