Sparkle Animates Roger McGough Poem

bbchd3.jpgAlways a fan of Roger McGough but isn't it about time some of these high-profile commissions went to some our many excellent young poets?

Also a bit irritated that I only heard about this from reading the Computer Mag. 'Digit'. Nothing through the normal channels, hmph!

Anyway, enough moaning, big congratulations to Sparkle Media of Duke Street, Liverpool for creating such a great animation and for actually getting the job in the first place. Apparently the BBC were well surprised to see such good work from an agency outside of London.

Liverpool-based visual effects company, Sparkle Media, wowed guests with their interpretation of a specially commissioned poem written by Liverpool legend, Roger McGough, at a party celebrating BBC Radio Merseyside’s 40th birthday.

The star-studded event was also the official launch of the station’s new home in Hanover Street .

Glenn Maguire, motion designer at Sparkle Media, said: “Working alongside such a renowned and talented figure as Roger McGough was a real privilege. And to have our film as the key show piece of BBC Radio Merseyside’s joint birthday and moving in party was phenomenal!�
