Ticket To Decide

A MAGICAL double-decker culture bus will be touring Liverpool in 2007 and the people of the city get to decide what it looks like.

Workshops are being held in the neighbourhoods of Liverpool in January for people to come along and get creative. They will not only have a ticket to ride when the bus gets going in Spring 2007, they also have the ticket to decide what’s going to be on the outside!

Liverpool City Council Leader, Cllr Warren Bradley, said: “We’re really keen to get the people of the city involved with plans for the touring bus. What do you want to see on the sides of it to attract people’s attention and do you have an artistic talent that could be made use of in the design of the double-decker? If so, we want to see you at these workshops.

Public open sessions will be held at the following venues and times:
Tuesday 16th January - 10.00am – 12.00pm at Parklands Library, Conleach Road, Speke.

Thursday 18th January, 10.00am – 12.00pm, the Roscoe Room, Central Library, William Brown Street, Liverpool

Liverpool-based artist, Donna Berry (pictured) has been chosen to help people express their ideas and get them documented for use by the workers transforming the bus, which has been provided by Arriva, an Official Supplier of the Liverpool Culture Company.

It is likely that the bus will include features like an information centre, a staffed reception area plus exhibition, screening and performance spaces.
