We are looking to recruit Volunteers to invigilate the International 08 exhibition. This position would suit a student or recent graduate keen gain work experience in contemporary visual art.

These positions provide an exciting opportunity to work alongside artists participating in the International exhibition, and to contribute to the delivery of an international exhibition across multiple venues.

Liverpool Biennial is a charitable company with the aims of developing and promoting the visual arts infrastructure in Liverpool through ‘engaging art with people and place’.

The Learning and Inclusion team provide an extensive programme of workshops, courses and events for schools, young people, communities and specialist audiences.

We are looking to extend our team of experienced educators to support the delivery of this varied and innovative education programme. Applications are invited from the artists in the Merseyside region, working in all disciplines, who have wide experiences of delivering workshops and training sessions.
This work is on a casual basis, as and when required.

A Foundation Seeks Volunteers & Invigilators

Update to previous post.
afoundation/ Greenland Street is seeking Exhibition Invigilators to work on a full time or part time basis for the duration of the biennial from 14 September to 26 November. Invigilators will receive training prior to the biennial and a daily rate of pay of £40/ day.

The deadline for application for Invigilator posts is Midday on Friday 25th August.

They are also looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of their projects, so if anyone wants some relevant experience within an arts organisation they should email info@afoundation.org.uk (deadline doesn't apply to this).

Independents requires a Press & Media Consultant

The Independents Biennial Liverpool requires a Press & Media Consultant.
£2K fixed fee.

The independents are the exhibitions, events and goings-on of artists, gallerists and visual media activists making their mark, independently, at Liverpool Biennial 2006. The Independents are not themed, categorised or curated by the City's institutions. They are there on their own terms, doing their own thing, looking for attention, dialogue and interaction.

IBL requires the services of a savvy, fast-moving individual (or company) to secure both specialist and popular media coverage for a diverse programme of exhibitions, events and happenings. The Consultant will need to collate content for press packs and get the packs to the right people at the right time. The Consultant will liase with artists and the media in relation to photo / interview opportunities and associated activities. The Consultant must be able to write copy, e.g. the Consultant will be expected to conduct and publish interviews with artists for IBL's website.

The Biennial period runs 16 September - November 26, however, this consultancy will focus on the late August to mid-October period. Availability to make an early start will be appreciated. An inclusive fixed fee of £2K is offered. The Consultant will be responsible for their own tax and NI. Arena - Biennial 06 Creative Facilitator Vacancy

ARENA BIENNIAL CREATIVE FACILITATOR

INTRODUCTION:
Arena Studios will be transformed into a whole building of exhibition spaces throughout the Biennial period, 15th September till 15th December. Priority will be given to Arena members but space will be available for external projects. Our aim is to have the entire building as an innovative creative center with which to showcase Arena Artists and host guest projects, events, gigs, workshops and talks.

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Arena Art and Design Association seeks to appoint a creative facilitator during the Biennial period.Responsibilities will include liasing with the directors, management and members to co-ordinate the exhibition programme. Reviewing exhibition proposals and communicating with external artists/art groups to fill any unused space. Applying for funding to producing publicity and marketing material and co-ordinate the transformation of the vacated studios into suitable exhibition space.

2. SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED

• Organising Arena Biennial Committee meetings
• Providing information on the Arena Biennial- in the run up to the Biennial, to potential contributors and press.
• Developing a selection mechanism for any external projects.
• Ability to apply for grants and funds if needed.
• Co-ordination of the Arena Biennial activities – managing central info / press and publicity
• Evaluation and way forward report.

3. SCHEDULE

The term of the contract will be from 3rd July to 20th December 2006

4. PLACE OF WORK

It is expected that the main place of work will be the office in Arena Studios.


5. EMPLOYMENT OF CREATIVE FACILITATOR

The Creative Facilitator will be working for Arena Charity on a freelance basis with funding received from grants and subsidies they create.
