Liverpool artwork of the week 2009-20. ‘Farbrauschen / Negative Space’ (Vinyl Tape / fishing line 2009) by Monika Grzymala at the Bluecoat 22 May – 19 July 2009
Monika Grzymala creates temporary drawings on gallery walls, floors and ceilings rather than on paper. Instead of using a pencil to draw, her lines and dots are made of coloured tape. As part of the End of the Line exhibition, Monika decided to make a site-specific drawing the responded to the space of the Vide. She wanted to make a three-dimensional drawing that would define the air or negative space of the three-storey atrium.
