Liverpool artwork of the day – Tuesday July 10 2007. ‘Koi I’ Oil on Canvas by Peter Chan at The Artfinder Gallery until September 1 2007
One of Liverpool’s favourite artists has just opened his solo show at the Artfinder in Queen Ave, off Castle Street.
You may have seen a few of Peter Chan‘s paintings without even realising it. There’s one in the cafe at Waterstone’s, some in the Bang & Olufsen shop and in clothes shops, hairdressers, bars and restaurants around Merseyside.
The works look just as good in the home too of course.
Most of his works are quite large canvases so you can’t fit many into this small gallery but there’s still a good representation of his work. As well as the tranquil scenes of Koi or blossoms there are earlier abstracted paintings of fireworks outside the Tate and some very recent life paintings.
