ArtsHub47: Lark Lane Pottery Exhibition

13 – 22 September 2013

Launch: 13 September 17.00 – all welcome

The new exhibition takes place in the not-for-profit Hub, a gallery space dedicated to local artists above the Arts Hub 47 on Lark Lane. Arts Hub 47 is the only arts-based community cooperative in Liverpool.

The pottery, part of St. Michaels and Lark Lane Community Association based in the Old Police Station on the Lane, is, in common with ArtsHub47, very much rooted in the community and encourages local people to release their creative ability.

John Parker from Lark Lane Pottery says he likes to find out what they like to do and what they’re best at.  The resulting work is a reflection of both this and the diversity of the people producing it, as the artists come from a massive variety of backgrounds, including parents and children, disabled people, as well as people from France, Chile and India.

The Arts Hub 47 is staffed by volunteers and funded by sales of the work exhibited. The cooperative provides gallery and retail space enabling the hand-crafted works of local artists to be displayed, promoted and sold, and an environment for learning, sharing and networking.
