Large Artist Commissions 2017
FESTIVAL31 is commissioning an artist from a refugee background who works with sound, whether through music, spoken word, soundscapes or other.
The successful artist will benefit from mentoring from a professional sound artist, and will produce new work inspired by stimuli provided by the festival. The resulting new work will be exhibited during the festival.
The successful artist will have experience of working in their field, with professional experience / previous published work being a desirable factor.
The successful applicant will need to commit a minimum of nine days between April and June, in addition to attending events and presenting work during the festival (19th June – 19th July).
The fee for this commission will be £1575. An additional materials budget of £150 will be available to the selected artist.

You are responsible for ensuring that all work remains available to the festival commissioning panel until at least Monday 24th April.
