A brief history of Art in Liverpool’s journey so far:
Art in Liverpool was set up by Ian Jackson with the help of Minako Jackson back in August 2004, as a simple listings site for Liverpool galleries and exhibitions. A blog followed in time for the 2004 Liverpool Biennial and the site has continued to grow ever since.
In September 2011 Ian & Minako decided to reduce their online activity and handed over the management of the site to VAiL (Visual Arts in Liverpool), who selected Sinead Nunes as editor.
VAiL is a board of visual arts organisations established in 2007 to raise Liverpool’s reputation as the UK’s leading regional city for visual arts. Member organisations include: the Bluecoat, Liverpool Biennial, Tate Liverpool, National Museums Liverpool, Metal, Ceri Hand Gallery, A Foundation, FACT and Open Eye Gallery.
VAiL is supported by Arts Council England.
