Drawing & Collage

statement:
In my recent solo projects I have been working in drawing, sewing and collage. I have been interested in narcissism and self obsession in both art works and actual artists for the last few years and it continues to be a subject that still generates much of my work for me.

I have also recently been working in a collaborative way with other artists, either utilizing their skills to produce my own work in new ways or on larger projects where both artists take equal roles in the manufacture and concept. I graduated from Falmouth College of Arts in June 2006 and moved to Liverpool for the biennial in the following September.

Since living here I have worked at A Foundation and Bluecoat Display Centre for which I am currently curating an exhibition to begin in July. I am planning to stay in Liverpool for a few more years because I have enjoyed it so much so far and will eventually, hopefully, move somewhere new to enter an MA course after some more life experience.

news:
My most exciting forth coming project is Wunderkammer at Bluecoat Display Centre. It has given me my first experience of making contact with artists all over the world that I admire and also the opportunity to select pieces of theirs to be brought for show in Liverpool .

In September 2007 I have my first collaborative solo exhibition – A proper horrorshow – working with Roxy Topia at Redwire Gallery in Liverpool , which we hope to eventually turn into a traveling show. This show will feature sculpture, video, sound and drawing, as well as live events and a free Baudelaire Makeover given out to all volunteer viewers on the opening evening.

Roxy & I are also devising our second show for 2008, provisionally called Situationne Comedy: St Helens Situationism in the 1980s. We will also be involved in some group projects over the summer around Liverpool and hopefully further a field.

Created a one man show at the Southport Arts Centre to run for the first few months of 2008 at Southport Arts Centre,  titled Goodbye Monster.
