7 @ The Anglican. The 7 @ Group at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral until April 11 2008.
The War Memorial Chapel of the Cathedral is not the best place for an exhibition. A white cube it most certainly is not, there are poppy wreaths, flags and various war memorabilia. But artists have to be thankful for any space they can find to exhibit their work.
The 7@ group had grown to 11 members and now they’re down to 9 who all do very different types of work.
I’m a big fan of Alice Roberts cartoons (‘Cartoons are the best thing in the world’ she says), here they are hanging from a line with pegs.
Hannah Fray’s portraits are really nice and Keiron Finnetty makes a few observations using origami peace cranes in a large cage – I wonder where he got that cage, you could fit a small person in there!
All good, thought-provoking stuff, well worth a visit.
The other artists are Kirsty Evans, Jane Hughes, Kathryn Kimber, Becky Swift, Anne Marie Prior and Jack Welsh.
