From the organisers....

Hey All!

Well, the competition is now closed and so we are beavering away organising the next stage - the judging!

A few of you have been asking about the next stages - When will the judging take place, who are the judges, when do we find out if we are chosen for the 100Shirts Exhibition....?!

Details of the judges, judging process and dates will all be posted onto our blog (an online newsletter/messageboard) at http://www.artinliverpool.com/100shirts so please do keep a regular eye out (every couple of days or so) for the latest updates. Hopefully the judging will take place before the 14th January 2006 so there really isn't much time to go!

It would be lovely to get a little feedback from you all too - Please do take a moment to post your comments or queries or shared experiences of the competition so far onto our blog. How did you find out about the 100Shirts? How easy/difficult did you find the brief? Did you find your queries and questions were responded to helpfully when you emailed into us? Maybe you would like to try and contact some of the other entrants to have a chat and see how they found the competition so far?

The 100Shirts Judging Panel will be meeting today and the 100Shirts will be chosen! All of these 100Shirts will be viewable on the official website which will be launched next week ..... Keep checking this blog for more news coming soon!

Hello all!

Well, the judging panel - consisting of representatives from the Arts Council Northwest, Art in Liverpool, Microzine, The Liverpool and Manchester Design Initiative, The Culture Company and p-ornithology - met yesterday afternoon and the 100Shirts were chosen from all of the entries submitted!

The quality of artwork was phenomenal and so it was quite a difficult task to narrow down all of the entries to our group favourite 100Shirt Designs but, after much debate, we managed to pick 100 designs!

These top 100Shirts designs will all be featured in the 100Shirts Exhibition to take place in Microzine in February - Watch this space for more details!

Are you one of the lucky artists to have your artwork chosen to feature in the 100Shirts Exhibition? Well, the chosen 100 are being transported and uploaded to the official 100Shirts Website as I write and hopefully, we will be coming back to you with the live link to the website very soon.

To find out if you are one of the chosen 100, keep your eyes on this blog as we will only be updating you all via this message board from now on.

Congratulations in advance to all of the artists who have had their artwork chosen for the 100Shirts exhibition, book and website! For everyone else, there's always next year.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm sure Bob appreciates it but she's just too busy to respond. The website is almost ready, its not me that's doing it by the way. Then you'll just have to look and see if your design is in there, that's all the news I have for now.

The 100shirts site is live
Hope the wait has not been too long or painful - you will see we have been working hard to make the sure the webExhibition is as good as we can get it.
The 100shirts on the site are the 100shirts the judges have chosen. I understand that some entrants will be disappointed but every design has been considered and the judging was extremely difficult.
About the site:

Its built using Flash because we believed this is the best way we could reflect the quality of the designs and of what we are trying to achieve with the whole project. Using Flash here are a few tips
- If you don't have the software to view sites built in Flash, you can download it for free.
- It will operate smoothly if you have broadband - but if you are on a dial up connection, the operation will be slow (and fa tad frustrating) - and the music will cut in and out - so a broadband connection really is essential.
- Remember the voting is for fun but it will be interesting to see who crosses the line as the "peoples" vote - so get your family and friends involved.

There is loads of information about the city centre exhibition venues and our partners - so have a good look around and visit all the partner sites by clicking on the logos at the bottom of the homepage.
We are really proud of it and how it represents the quality and high standard of the chosen 100designs. So go and enjoy it and don't forget to let us know what you think.

The Awards Evening is announced:
The event will take place on the: 2nd March 2006.
The venue is: Microzine, in Liverpool City Centre.
The start time is: 7pm
The after party is at: The Tea Factory (till late) - great Liverpool Bar
The aim of the evening: to greet, meet and celebrate

If you want to attend we are now compiling a guest list. You will need to be on the list to get in as we expect a really high turn out.
Email Bob at the100shirts@aol.com to register for the guest list and if you have any questions. Every artist who entered can bring 2 guests. We will compile a little map and send it out to all those who are travelling from afar, also we will post details of types of accomdation etc on the blog by the 6th February 06 .
Its going to be a night to remember.
